Chronos Core, Period 1

Land in another time & meet famous historical figures, scientists, mathematicians & artists. Memorize facts, create a timeline, and present on what interests you the most.

Memory Mastery & History

Memorize facts in all seven subjects integrated to the history focus of the week. Read a chapter in Story of the World & take a review quiz.

Science, Math, Literature & Philosophy

Read & annotate primary source literature, learn the story of this week’s scientist & mathematician, debate the philosopher’s quote.

Geography & Timeline

Memorize the countries of the world on a map as well as an 10,000 year timeline.

Presentations

Research an interesting topic from the week or integrate two and present your research on Friday to the class.


Math & Individual Tutoring, Period 2

Math

Use Khan Academy or an appropriate textbook to acquire math skills at your own pace. Work individually or in small groups to meet learning goals and earn awards.

Quest

Work one-on-one with an Advisor to assess your progress and set personal learning goals for the week.

Make: Math

Learn about the great mathematicians throughout history, their questions, and how math compelled them! Then join them by making your own mathematical discoveries and inquiries.

Euclidean Geometry

Using a compass & straightedge, recreate the proofs in Euclid’s Elements and design mathematical proofs of your own.

 

English Language Arts, Period 3

Writing

Using the Institute for Excellence in Writing approach, write about the events & people we’re studying and present them to your friends. K-2nd graders work on handwriting, phonics & sight words as well!

Literature

Read literature from history and about history. Annotate for literary techniques, vocabulary, style & theme.

Learn grammar through sentence diagramming philosophy quotes and editing great literature.

Memorize vocabulary, translate sentences, read Latin & Greek texts, and build language acquisition skills.

Spend an hour or two with a learning coach to strengthen weak areas or dig deeper in strong ones!
