Celeste Ezell
Head of School
Teacher: Language Arts
Maker Camp Director

In 2004, Daniel & I moved to Marin from Florida to begin our masters degrees; we started tutoring part-time to help pay tuition. 18 years later we have 3 masters between us, 3 children, and an amazing school where we get to teach them!

Even though I wear an administrative hat, teaching is still my favorite. My passion is using music to help students memorize history, math, languages and facts to make information recall instantaneous & efficient. Students often hear me singing them the information they need to know for a quiz! I have always been a skill collector, and I thoroughly enjoy helping students learn to diagram sentences, edit essays, and translate Latin & Greek!

Everybody should be young enough to take something apart and shoot it across the room with a handmade trebuchet. I, for one, revel in the opportunity to provoke creativity in young people today, helping more kids Make stuff, discover a math pattern or ask a question no one has ever thought of before.

I have a bachelors in English, a masters in Intercultural Studies, and spend my free time researching anything and everything that piques my curiosity. I get the greatest pleasure from instilling that inquisitiveness in my students, leading them from passive study to active pursuit of understanding. Whenever I can, I follow the student's lead, knowing that they will exert more effort when answering their own questions.

I visited the Bay Area from Thailand and loved it so much I decided to move here. I have a Bachelors degree in International Business from Thailand and an Early Childhood Certification from Merritt College in Oakland. Now I live in Fairfax with my husband and two girls. I’ve taught preschoolers for six years and now teach the “Lower Grammarian” class at Chronos Academy. I love K-2nd grader because they are sweet, innocent and brutally honest; they have big personalities in small packages. Because they absorb information so effectively and excitedly, they are a great investment for learning and for building character. I believe that if you instill a child’s values early, they will stick with them for life.

Merrell Roberts
Enrollment Director

I've spent most of my career in technology, but moved to school administration in 2020 to work in an environment that had more real-world impact. I was drawn to Chronos for my son's education because of how knowledgeable the teachers are and how much they truly enjoy what they teach. When I had the opportunity to join the collaborative & fun Chronos team, I was thrilled: they are sincerely inspired by what they do that it is a joy to be a part of.
